Destination Imagination

Destination Imagination® (DI) is a creative problem-solving competition for students grades K-12. Teams of 5 to 7 students, coached by parent volunteers, select one of five challenges and create a solution to present at the regional tournament in February.  The Fort Bend ISD Gifted & Talented Program provides training and support for parent volunteers and pays all registration fees. Students do not have to be identified as gifted and talented to participate.

According to the DI website:

"Destination Imagination (DI) is a volunteer-led, non-profit organization. Our purpose is to inspire and equip students to become the next generation of innovators and leaders. Annually, we offer seven new standards-based Challenges in STEM, Improv, Visual Arts, Service Learning, and Early Learning designed. Each Challenge fosters students' creativity, courage and curiosity, and enables student teams to learn and experience the creative process from imagination to innovation."
